This mixed media piece combines repurposed materials and encaustic techniques to explore themes of environmental change and resilience. A crumpled paper towel in on the left side, driftwood discovered on the shore of the Lake of the Ozarks, and vessels made from paper towels reflect the cyclical nature of water and the transformation of discarded objects into art. Painted stripes in dark red encaustic pigment, copper leaf, and stained cheesecloth surround the driftwood.
